We deal in the following types of coals :-

• STEAM COAL
Refers to coal used in boilers to generate steam to produce electricity or for other industries like sponge iron, cement, brick, etc. the rising demand for sponge iron and cement in a fast growing economy like Pakistan indirectly raises the demand for products like steam coal.
Sponge iron is emerging as an important route of steel making in Pakistan, and with the real estate sector in Pakistan growing furiously, the demand for products like cement, steel and energy will rise proportionately which will indirectly raise the demand for the coal.

ARIF acquires grade B, C, D, E and F of Steam Coal through import.

• COKING COAL
Coke is derived from bituminous coal through heating in airtight ovens. The lack of air prevents the coal from burning and converts some of the solids to gases leaving coke. It is a vital ingredient in the manufacture of Steel, and is pivotal in determining steel prices. It finds application in several other heavy industries. ARIF is a leading trader and importer of Coking coal.

• METALLURGICAL COKE
Metallurgical Coke is a hard coke used in blast furnace for producing pig iron and in cupolas for the production of grey iron castings. Metallurgical coke is produced by Carbonisation (heating of pulverised coking coal in absence of air) of coking coal i.e. bituminous coal in coke oven battery.
Metallurgical coke is used as a fuel and as a reducing agent in smelting iron ore in a blast furnace.
